A delicious tangy and aromatic coffee from a multi-award winning farm. What more could you ask for?

Roast recommendation: excellent as a single-origin pour over brew but also works well as a single-origin espresso. Light roast for pour over (City to City+) and medium to medium-dark roast for espresso (Full City to Full City+).

In the cup: tangy and aromatic. The classic cocoa, caramel, and nutty flavours complemented by citron notes and glimpses of floral accents as the coffee cools down.

Monte Verde has a proven pedigree in quality. The farm has won a staggering number of coffee quality awards over the years, including multiple Cup of Excellence (COE) awards, multiple Illy Quality Awards, and many other local coffee quality competitions. Monte Verde is considered one of the best coffee farms in Brazil thanks to its consistent focus on quality and long-term sustainability

The farm spread across 600 hectares in the strikingly beautiful Serra da Mantiqueira mountain range, in the south of the state of Minas Gerais, with altitude ranging from 1000-1250m. The area is known for having a perfect combination of mountain climate, sunlight and soil fertility that results in high-quality coffee.

The coffee trees are planted on the mountain slopes alongside natural reserves and natural springs. Monte Verde is also notable for its rich diversity of wildlife such as orange and green-billed toucans, hawks, parrots, endangered wolfs and monkeys.

Quality is everything at Monte Verde, and staff takes incredible care of the coffee. Harvesting is done entirely by hand. The coffee fields are divided into lots, and each session is picked at a time. The handpicked coffee is grouped into different ripeness levels, processed, dried and milled. The coffee is later graded by Monte Verde’s workers and some particular lots, exceedingly higher in cupping score, are set aside and available exclusively via auction, such as the COE annual online coffee auction.

Monte Verde is owned by FAL Coffee Inc., a group that operates coffee farms and coffee mills in Brazil.
