About Monte Verde farm:
Monte Verde has a proven pedigree in quality. The farm has won a staggering number of coffee quality awards over the past few years, including multiple Cup of Excellence (COE), Illy Quality Awards, and many other local coffee quality awards. It is considered one of the best coffee farms for quality in Brazil.

The farm spreads across 600 hectares in the strikingly beautiful ‘Serra da Mantiqueira’ mountain range, alongside natural reserves and natural springs. The coffee fields are found on the rolling mountain slopes, with altitude ranging from 1000-1250m – these areas are known for having a perfect combination of mountain climate, sunlight and soil fertility that results in high-quality coffee

Monte Verde is also notable for its rich diversity of wildlife such as orange and green-billed toucans, hawks, parrots, endangered wolfs and monkeys.

Quality is everything at Monte Verde, and staff takes incredible care of the coffee. Harvesting is entirely handpicked, each session at a time, and then separated by different ripeness levels into micro-lots. The coffee is then processed via the natural or pulped-natural methods, dried, milled, and later graded by Monte Verde’s team of coffee experts.

Some particular lots, exceedingly higher in cupping score, are only available through auction.

Monte Verde belongs to FAL Coffee Inc., a group that operates coffee farms and coffee mills in Brazil and known for its consistent focus on long-term sustainability of its farms.
